About a miami story

A Miami Story is the most explosive urban tale of its time. It is as provocative, as it is authentically gritty and realistic.

Its characters are honestly betrayed, full of character and purpose. The backdrop is inner city Miami, the urban jungle, the hub of this country's cocaine explosion of the mid- 1980's.

Although we have seen and heard stories from that era, we have never before been provided a glimpse of the lives of the Black men, women, boys and girls that chose to take the bait. Some entered the race to get high... some entered the race to get rich. ...but in order to stay rich or high from cocaine there was always a challenge, and in order to meet that challenge you had to play the game. There were moves to be made...orders to be given....rules to be followed.

The story is gripping, the characters are colorful, fast moving and seem to leap from the page. We care for them, curse them, cheer for them, all at the same time. We listen watch and read as we find ourselves absorbed into a time capsule, then transponded to the mean streets of Liberty City, Opa Locka and Overtown.

Amid the chaos and conflict there is recognized the opportunity for the poor to become rich and the weak to become powerful, in order to seize those opportunities one must be oblivious to risk and mindful of danger at all times. Economic Empires are being created in the ghetto and the fight for control is constant.

Our main character's family is engulfed in these battles, appointed as neighborhood royalty and determined to protect the honor of his own people in a world where honor actually has no value at all. The result is mind-blowing and the intrigue never ceases.
